The Ark Encounter is one of Northern Kentucky’s most unique attractions, and the holiday season is one of the best times to visit. With free events and the magic of Christmas in the air, you can immerse yourself in an impressive reconstruction of Noah’s Ark, along with dazzling light shows and Christmas-themed activities.
A visit here often means staying at one of the hotels near the Ark Encounter, but choosing a B&B in KY could offer you a more memorable experience that better embodies the holiday spirit.
What’s Happening at the Ark Encounter During the 2025 Holiday Season?
Christmas at the Ark Encounter is packed with Holiday events starting at the end of November.
The Ark itself and all of the exhibits within are open with standard paid admission. Special holiday events are free for all guests. These events include a Christmas Lights Display, Laser Show, Ararat Ridge Zoo access, and Animal Programs. Christmas events run from Thursday to Saturday from 5:00 PM until 8:30 PM, except on December 25th.
The Light in the Darkness Laser Show is a stunning holiday spectacle, retelling the Christmas Story in shining color over the Ark itself.
What’s Special About Staying at a B&B in KY Instead of Hotels Near the Ark Encounter?
A holiday getaway should be a magical event where you can let your stress drift away as you immerse yourself in the spirit of the season. It’s harder to do this when staying at a large hotel where the hallways are as long as the guest list and the service is acceptable, but not personal.
There are plenty of excellent hotels near the Ark Encounter, but they all lack the extra touches that you will love when booking at a B&B in KY.

The unique experience of staying at a B&B in KY doesn’t take any of the conveniences away from you. We are just 15 minutes from the Cincinnati / Northern Kentucky Airport, about 30 minutes from the Ark Encounter, and 20 minutes from the heart of Cincinnati.
Putting the Magic Back Into the Holiday Season During a Luxury Getaway
It’s easy to feel like the holiday season has lost its spark. From the commercialization of everything to the stress of keeping up with family and social commitments, the holidays sometimes feel like an obligation rather than a season to be embraced.
Choosing something fresh for your 2025 holiday adventure can return the magic that has been lost over the years. Our B&B in KY is situated in gorgeous rolling hills and wooded areas where you are just a few minutes’ walk from the idyllic town of Burlington with its highly-rated cafés and restaurants.
England-Idlewild Park is just around the corner, and it is a gorgeous location for a casual walk in the beautiful winter landscape. The Boone County Fairgrounds, just next to the Park, will host Light Up the Fair throughout November and December. It’s Northern Kentucky’s only drive-through Christmas light show, and it’s worth spending a dazzling evening under the colorful canopy.
Cincinnati itself is also a magical winter holiday destination. The city charms with its historic architecture, sprawling parks, and world-class museums and galleries. The PNC Festival of Lights is held every year at the Cincinnati Zoo. Millions of LEDs illuminate the trees, architecture, and sculptures.
Northern Kentucky moves at a unique pace. It’s quiet, yet conveniently next to a metropolitan center. There are magical cultural events ranging from Christmas at the Ark Encounter to a quirky Christmas Parade at nearby Rabbit Hatch. If you want an unforgettable winter holiday adventure, the sheer diversity of the region lets you make it your own.
