Why You Should Stay at a Kentucky Bed and Breakfast for the Burlington Antique Show

Staying at a nearby Kentucky bed and breakfast will give you convenient access to the Burlington Antique Show, along with a unique lodging experience that puts hospitality and service first.

Willis Graves Bed and Breakfast is an award-winning option for your luxury stay in Burlington. See how you can enjoy a more memorable and meaningful travel experience while attending one of the most famous antique events in America.

What Makes the Burlington Antique Show the Best Event on the Antique Calendar?

If you have never been to the Burlington Antique Show, you can look forward to one of the most focused antique events of its kind.
While many of America’s biggest antique shows have branched off into general craft and artisan goods sales, Burlington’s show has maintained its unyielding focus on antiques and vintage collectibles. You won’t find new items, modern interpretations, or garage-sale filler. Instead, you will be treated to a densely packed playground of mid-20th-century furniture, early Americana, vintage jewelry, and rare architectural salvage.

Staying at a B&B in KY makes the whole experience more convenient and infinitely more comfortable. If you are a serious collector, the secret to the show is getting there early. The Early Buying tickets are legendary because they give you access to the show between 6AM and 8AM. This is when dedicated treasure hunters are at the fairgrounds, looking for that next special item. You will have first pick of one-of-a-kind items before the general admission crowds arrive. Staying just a few steps down Idlewild Road certainly makes it easier to get in early.

But even if you’re more casually interested in exploring historic and rare items later in the day, the show is still the perfect place to find unique home décor, furniture, and collectibles. General admission still gives you access to one of the best collections that you will find anywhere.

Willis Graves B&B in KY is just minutes away from the Boone County Fairgrounds (0.2 miles to be exact), so staying in our historic home is the best way to enjoy a weekend hunting for antiques.

Suites and Surroundings in a Kentucky Bed and Breakfast That Reflect the Antique Mindset

Whether you’re an experienced antique hunter or someone who is simply interested in the fine craft and culture of yesteryear, a historic B&B in KY can perfectly reflect the antique mindset.

At Willis Graves Kentucky Bed and Breakfast, our suites are spread throughout our 1830s Federal House, our 1840s Log Cabin, and our mid-century Garden Cottage. When you stay in the charming Thomas’ Suite with its own staircase (this suite covers the entire second floor of the Federal House), you’re not just staying in a room; you’re relaxing in a luxury piece of history. The effortless transitional décor combines antique and modern elements for a timeless style. And, unlike in the 1800s, you can relax in a spa-like bathroom with a whirlpool tub after a day of antique shopping.

Breakfast Done Your Way at a Kentucky Bed and Breakfast

Even half a day of exploring antiques can be physically taxing. As exciting as it is to hear the stories of the pieces and meet the sellers, it takes a lot out of you. Starting with the right kind of energy is the best way to get the most out of the Burlington Antique Show. The menu at our Kentucky Bed and Breakfast is ideal for this.

Our ingredients and menu items are seasonal. We carefully select artisan goods, locally sourced whenever possible, to create mouthwatering meals that delight the senses. We offer the classics done right, like eggs your way, thick and fluffy waffles, decadent French toast, or a farm-fresh quiche of the day. We also bring in seasonal picks like mixed fruit parfait or a summertime melon mix. Whether it’s thick slab bacon on toast or simple jam and fresh, warm bread with brewed coffee, you will love dining at our Kentucky Bed and Breakfast.

With high-quality ingredients and passion put into every element of the dish, you will also have the energy to make the most of the day ahead of you.
